For the love don’t break
Elections for the Community Council take place each year in August. This is one of the many ways that we encourage our school community to become involved in the education process.

During the 2021-2022 school year we received approximately $94,123 from School Trust Lands. Our Community Council met to set the following funding priorities to support three main goals. The first goal, having all of our students progress at least 1 full academic year in all of their reading and writing skills, was addressed by using $59,040 to hire a .5 Reading Interventionist and three part time Reading Para Professionals to support our targeted reading and writing goals in our school’s WIN Intervention program. The second goal, to provide quality art instruction and interaction for all students Kindergarten to 5th grade taught by a certified teacher, was met by hiring a qualified part-time art instructor at a cost of $12.000. The third goal, enhancing the learning experience with quality sound /voice equipment ensuring the best opportunity for hearing instruction, was addressed by using $19,406 to purchase sound/voice enhancement systems for half of our classrooms that still need them. The 4th goal, having all of our students progress at least 1 full academic year their math skills, was supported by using $3,677 to purchase ST Math, a computer program, to assist with Math instruction. FYI
Our School Community Council is primarily responsible for the creation of our School LAND Trust Plan. This plan is created annually by analyzing our school testing data to determine the greatest academic need. The money our school receives from the School LAND Trust fund is allocated according to our plan. Over the years our school has purchased technology to support student learning, books for our leveled library, math manipulatives, science materials, and we’ve been able to hire additional personnel to support targeted learning in small groups. Our school is grateful for the School LAND Trust program and the opportunity we have as a school to allocate the funds to support our targeted and specific needs. The Council assists with school improvement, and make decisions on how to best spend the Trust LANDS funding. More information regarding the work of the Council and the current plan can be found by visiting the School LAND Trust Website: https://www.schools.utah.gov/schoollandtrust
